Were you approached for the role of John?
Yeah. They came to me. I knew Ian Somerhalder
. He’s a friend of mine, and I thought it would be fun to go out there and play vampire for a little bit. It proved to be just that. I was impressed with the level of acting on the show, and the writing and the dark, totally grounded in reality
