Will Jeremy be a Vampire in season 2 of the Vampire Diaries?

The Vampire Diaries star Steven R. McQueen has admitted that he enjoys exploring the dark side of his character Jeremy Gilbert.

He told HollywoodNews.com that the character will continue to evolve in the forthcoming second season.

“Jeremy has been one of the most favourite characters I’ve ever played, just because he has gone through so much, and he has been forced to make so many changes,” explained the actor. “You can only be hurt for so long before you turn hard. And that has been interesting to see his progression as the series has gone along.”

However, McQueen – the grandson of Hollywood legend Steve McQueen – refused to confirm whether Jeremy will become a vampire in the new season.

“Obviously I can’t say whether he makes that change or not,” he teased. “But I can say that Jeremy has been pushed around a lot. [In the new season] he starts to push back and stand his ground. He also begins to become a little more cold and calculated.”

Tiya Sircar as a guesting star in the Vampire Diaries

Disney veteran Tiya Sircar had joined the Vampire Diaries season 2 as a Guesting star. And her role is going to be Amiee Bradley, a high school student who becomes involved in the supernatural activities in Mystic Falls. And she  potentially recurring role will debut in episode three of the upcoming second season of the series.

“It’s been so much fun working with such a great cast,” says Sircar. “I’d love to come back for more episodes, but nobody is safe in Mystic Falls! Working with the boys in this show could make a girl’s head spin. They’re all so easy on the eyes. But what’s better, they happen to be really sweet as well.”

Nope, you can expect Aunt Jenna to remain blissfully unaware of the supernatural happenings in Mystic Falls, at least for now. How can that be when she was in the house while Katherine was chopping off Uncle John’s fingers and Jeremy was upstairs downing blood and pills? Executive producer Julie Plec tells us, “We’ll learn in the first episode that she was actually out talking to the fire marshal. Katherine actually lured Jenna out of the house before all the craziness happened.” Finger slicing aside, that Katherine seems like a fine young lady, no?

We have three tidbits about the three, possibly four, planned walks down the Salvatore brothers’ memory lane:

• We chatted with Bianca Lawson, a.k.a. the original Bennett witch, who spilled that “Emily Bennett’s coming back to maybe be a good witch, maybe be bad witch.” Maybe we’ll finally see her make the deal with the devil himself, Damon, which sealed the vamps in the tomb?
• When we spoke with Kevin Williamson at Comic-Con he confirmed that we will be seeing some of season one’s dearly departed via flashbacks. Our fingers are crossed for the return of fan favorite Anna.
• Expect to learn about a lot more about the infamous Katherine. Williamson teased, “Why wasn’t she in the tomb? How did she escape? Where did she go? Why did she come to Mystic Falls to begin with? What brought her to Mystic Falls?
